| The Society for Child Development
has undertaken a variety of research projects to explore issues
related to disability and disability law. We hope that this
research will help the government and the SFCD use our resources
more effectively to actualize our vision of a society where
persons with disabilities have equal opportunities.

Access To and Availability
of Services For women with Mental Disabilities in Rajasthan: |

This study undertook a critical examination
of the services provided to women with mental retardation
and their conditions in state run and other half way and
long stay homes, day care centers, hospitals and other
institutions providing vocational training and day care
services to girls and women with mental disabilities.
The state of Rajasthan was targeted for this study since
it is an acknowledged fact that mental health and disability
related services are woefully lacking in this state. |

A database of information related to disability
law was created and uploaded on the Disability India Network
website. The information is also available in CDs, audio
cassettes, and sign language VCDs for dissemination to
people from different disability groups. |
